SIMPROCESS models can be built to a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 maturity. Level 1 simulation models are a straight-forward desktop approach used to answer immediate process shortcomings. After working with staff members to understand the current business environment, a team of CACI modelers will build and analyze a level 1 model which provides a quick and easy way to perform future-state "what-if" analysis.

Level 2 simulation models are level 1 models combined with web-based analytical tools. These tools are available to a community of functional analysts so they can perform their own operational analysis without relying on CACI assistance. Level 2 models allow functional analysts to change key parameters and examine the results without changing the actual simulation model, which essentially brings the power of simulation to the key decision makers.

Level 3 simulation models demonstrate the real power of simulation by providing a proactive approach to process improvement. Level 3 models employ near-real-time predictive analytics, called Business Activity Monitoring (BAM), for operations management accessible to both administrators and line managers. This proactive approach allows decision makers to analyze and solve potential operational problems before they actual materialize.
